Description

Red Ginger (Alpinia purpurata) grows on the road to Hana. Mauai, Hawaii. Photo taken on a hike on the island of Maui in Hawaii on a trip in 2015 as a guest of my daughter on a "Peak Performer" business award trip! .

The Road to Hana is world-renowned for being a long, beautiful drive that features incredible sights and stops that make it one of the go-to destinations on Maui. Along the way, there's a well-marked path to the falls and to a swimming hole. Ginger and Bird of Paradise plants are everywhere, along with Banana trees: It is truly an impressive sight to see is huge clumps of bananas just hanging from the trees in the wooded area!
