Description
Snow-covered mountains and fir trees; a nostalgic and timeless scene meant to evoke warm holiday feelings and memories of the mountains and northern parts of the USA. Created intuitively from years of living in the mountainous areas of the USA. Longing for the firs and snow of that region haunt me and I repeatedly paint them without even thinking about how or why I got to that place.. then, when I study what I have created, the painting leads me to finish it.. In this case, it was days afterward that I knew I had to spatter the snow falling on the trees to match the snow sparkling in the sky. The original watercolor is framed in an elegant antique white floater frame with conservation mat and conservation glass.
