Title
Yates Mill in Winter in Raleigh , North Carolina
Artist
Catherine Ludwig Donleycott
Medium
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
In 1973, Yates Mill was falling. The field stone rock walls were intact, but the building was crumbling. When I painted it, I used my artistic vision to "restore" it. The tiny branches on the trees were painted through tears. My young daughter was at a critical point in her life. Now, in 2020, the mill has actually been restored, and my daughter is a successful sales manager for a software company. I continue to paint and hope to share my view of the beauty in the world... which can take us through many difficult times and give us comfort.
